Rich, Damien and Bryce

Damien and Bryce racing
Damien, Rich and Bryce

Yesterday it was 72 degrees which is about 30 degrees warmer than what is normal this time of the year. The nice weather sure made it easy to get outside and take pictures of Bryce, his dad Rich and brother Damien. Not only did we have help from the nice weather I also got assistance from Damien's girlfriend, Alexis. Alexis was nice enough to help with the external flash and this sure made taking their pictures easier. The best part of taking their pictures was the way they all related to each other. Taking pictures of Rich and the boys was nice because you could tell how much they care for each other.

Last Sunday I took Christmas pictures of my grandchildren Braeden, Maleah and Sierra. Braeden is 6 years old and in the first grade. Braeden is not only doing well in school he is also doing well in his new love, wrestling. Braeden's sister Maleah is 4 years old and really loves dolls. Sierra is the youngest and for Christmas she wanted a boy doll.

Jimmy Gifford

I always appreciate the opportunity to take someones picture. Saturday I was fortunate to get to take pictures of Jimmy Gifford who is a senior at Parkersburg South. Jimmy was a member of the football team and played on the line. I have a special place in my heart for lineman because they work very hard yet seldom receive any recognition. Most "fans" who watch the game don't appreciate the significant contribution lineman make unless they mess up.

Patty and Bryce

My sister Patty's grandson Bryce visited her over Thanksgiving and I just had to get picture's of Bryce, his dogs and with his grandmother. Here are a few of the pictures that I took while Bryce was visiting.

Kindra Whitlatch Senior Pictures

When I took Kindra's senior pictures a couple of weeks ago I tried to incorporate important aspects of her life into each picture. Kindra enjoys reading and when you see her at school you will always see her with her head in a book. Kindra said she has fond memories of the Carnegie used book store where she has purchase many books and we took a number of pictures there. In Kindra's free time she volunteer's at the Wood County Public Library in the children's section and I wanted to use that area as another one of the places to take her pictures. The last thing that I wanted to incorporate into the pictures was her green Volkswagen Beetle which was loved to drive.

Around Thanksgiving my wife, Tammy and I went to Disney World to visit with Jessie and her family. Jessie, her husband Mike, and their children Abby and Emily were already in Florida with Mike's mother Karen. The second day of our trip we all got together at the Contemporary Hotel at Disney World and then spent a couple of days at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Abby and Emily had a wonderful time especially when they had an opportunity to meet Disney characters during both dinner and breakfast. We all had a great time and I would recommend Disney World to anyone.

Loss of a dear friend

I purchased a Volkswagen Jetta TDI in 2000 and it was the best car I have ever owned. I got around 50 mpg and it was a nice go to work car. The car didn't have much in the way of features but I didn't care since all I wanted was a car that took me to and from work cheaply. However I recently traded it off for a 2008 Toyota Highlander LTD and its the complete opposite kind of vehicle. Along with getting only 24 mpg this vehicle has all the bells and whistles that I never got on any previous purchased vehicles. When I traded the car it had over 207,000 miles and was still going strong.

Customer Service Eagles - Customer Service Dogs

Recently I have had two different customer service experiences that clearly point out what to do and what not to do. Around Thanksgiving my wife Tammy and I went to Disney World and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we got on the bus from the airport to Disney World until we left four days later all aspects of Disney service was wonderful. All the employees we met at Disney were service eagles, soaring above any amusement park competition.

Today I had the complete opposite service experience in fact it was the worst service experience of my life. I purchased a Photosmart B9180 printer last month and I never did get it working properly. Following HP's instruction's I had unpacked it and got it ready to set up. However once I plugged it in and turned the power on I got the following error message. "Problem detected, reset required. Disconnect power cord and reconnect." Today I contacted HP service and spent over 2 hours in hell being given a run around by eleven different people. Although I have purchased 3 different HP computers and 5 different HP printers I will never again purchase an HP product. I figure I can avoid product bugs if I stay away from HP dogs. Not only am I not going to purchase any additional HP products I am going to encourage any one I meet to reconsider any HP purchases.
